Mistakes are proof that you are trying - a tag by Anita

Hello and welcome, Anita from the Design Team here today to show you step by step a tag I've made:

On this tag I've used the colours from this month Colour Challenge:

I began to glue down with Distress Collage Matte Medium Tim Holtz tissue wrap on my tag. I also used this medium on top of the tissue wrap to achieve a smooth surface. This is in order for Distress crayons to blend nicely together.

Then I used some Tim Holtz stencils and embossing paste and made some texture on my tag:

I stroked on the colours pink, orange and red using my fingers, and then I used a stencil and paper with some water on and removed some of the color through the stencil

Then I stamped this beautiful butterfly bouquet stamp from the set Fly Fly Flowers, and the single butterfly from the set Butterfly Trio with black Archival Ink

Then I made some marks with black Distress Crayons.

I cut out a bit from a tag and using Dylusions tissue tape glued it on the piece of paper and stamped on top of it with the stamp from the set Something Wonderful, then glued it on my tag. I also used the tissue tape just below the butterfly bouquet.

I used the black crayon around the edges of the tag and around the little piece.

I colored the butterflies with Distress Crayons with a brush. Then I used a white pen for some highlights.

Materials used:
- Tag from Ranger
- Tim Holtz Tissue wrap - Melange
- Distress Collage Matte Medium
- Tim Holtz Stencils

- Tim Holtz's Distress Crayons - spun sugar, spiced marmalade, candied apple and black soot

- Dylusions tissue tape

- Fly Fly flowers stamp
- Butterfly trio stamp set
- The sentence from Something wonderful stamp set
