Penguin Party

Image
Hello.  Gail here today with a little make using Playful Penguins and Colourcraft Aztec paints.  Only a few short days til 2018 and these guys are ready!  Party on little flippers...... I started by taking a large round brush and making some sweeping stripes across a piece of A4 card using Colourcraft Aztec metallic lustre paints in red and pink.  I used a lot of paint on the brush to give me some texture.  Then I spread some of the purple paint onto my craft sheet and used the bubble stamp from the Playful Penguins set to stamp randomly over the page.   I used a stitched rectangle die to cut a section of the painted sheet and then stamped the water weeds from the Playful Penguins set.  Then I roughly coloured them with the green Aztec paint.   I used the blue Aztec paint to colour a piece of card and stamped, embossed and fussy cut two penguins.  I added some extra colour with the purple and yellow paint.  I mounted the panel on a pale blue base c

Embossed Shimmer Sheetz - Christmas Card

Hello everyone! It's Bibi here today to share one of the many two cards I sent out this year. Yes, two .... Not that I hadn't made a bunch of cards for my quick and easy Christmas cards post  earlier this month - and I had all the time in the world to write inside the cards and make envelopes, or so I thought ... After embossing, I altered it with alcohol inks, sanded it lightly to reveal the white core, then I added some bronze paste to the edges. I wanted to add some gold mica powder to the paste, but it flew everywhere and stuck to the alohol ink on the Shimmer Sheetz. I liked it, though - a happy accident - so I added more and set it with a fixative spray. The stamped trees are from the Wh

It’s nearly Christmas - Art Journal Tutorial by Deborah

Hello Everyone Debs here with a very Christmassy Tutorial, well it is nearly here. I wanted to created something with a magical feel and hope that comes across. I do love Christmas and the wonderful giving spirit it evokes in most people! So I started with my favourite colour combo of purple, blue and green. I just love how these colours look together, but you do  have to be careful mixing the green and purple as you don’t want to make brown. Stamped my favourite stamp of the moment, the leaves from Crazy Flowers 2, and painted them with Pitt Pens for Fabre Castell.  I then used a white Acrylic Ink to add snow to the leaves. I added some flicks to create the idea of snow falling I added touches of an horizon to add depth to the page and drew a few houses. Now as this was created intuitively, i.e. not planned I drew my houses. However, if you want to create this, you could use the houses from Textured Houses, which for this were a little too big. I blended
