Sweet Dreams - mixed media in pastel colours

Image
Hello everyone! This is Olga from the Design Team and I'm so glad to see you here!  As you know, I love nature very much and I always find a lot of inspiration in the beauty of the nature! Today I come to you with my new nature card "Sweet Dreams". I hope that this card will inspire you for your new creations. And some close ups where you can see the lovely stamps: Notice the lovely bird nest in pink? It's a stamp from the Vintage Birds sheet. The lovely leaf stamps are from the sheet called I Love Leaves, and you know I love leaves! So, it's my mix of the stamps for your inspiration!  I love to use stamps in my own way, just color them with acryl paints and stamp on the office paper. Them I cut them out and use in my creations. It's very simple to do and I love how the stamped images look - so full of detail! Just try to do it and you will be amazed! Sounds interesting? Lets create together! Here you can find the Rubber Dance

Love Your Decisions - Mixed Media Tag

Image
Hello everyone! Today we are proud to show the work of Marina Johan who have made a stunning tags for us!! Thanks, Bibi! I've had so much fun playing with my stamps from Rubber Dance! For my mixed media tag, I was inspired by this sentiment stamp:   To stretch the stamp, I've stamped it in various parts and took out the word "Love". Instead, I used chipboard letters to spell out "Love".  I used the same sentiment stamp and clear embossed it in the background. You can see in the close-up photos where I have randomly stamped it in the background to create a fun texture: Using sentiments as a background pattern and finding a new way to use the sentiments like I did here, is just one of the many ways you can get more out of the stamps you have. The stamp I used is from this set of sentiments from  Rubber Dance  : SEW1-M: Something Wonderful I hope my idea will inspire you to look at your own sentiment stamps

Blog Hoppin' Superpowers

Image
Rubber Dance has gained a following of stampers that love our Sarcasm Superpowers sentiment stamps. These aren't exactly our best seller stamps (not very surprisingly), but if you love them, you'll LOVE them! And this particular group of followers certainly do - not very surprisingly at all with a group name like theirs .... namely the  Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! (I know, right? Too darn cute!) These fine ladies have bullied me and some of my designers into a blog hop featuring our Sarcasm Superpower stamps. It didn't take much persuation, nor any bribes to speak of. Just mention  "challenge", and we'll be all over you like underfed fruitflies on a brown banana. And that's what the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is all about - a challenge blog with new challenges every other week. Fasten your seat belts and enjoy the bumpy ride! Of course there will be a prize.... if you make it to the end. Here's what I've made for our hop:

Life as a puzzle by Irit Shalom

Image
Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit   is here and this time I am going to share my new project  that was made a tribute to trends. I am not a very trendy girl when it comes to outfits or home decoration; but when I craft I try to incorporate a few of  latest trends as usually people are looking for them. But then it's always my own take of those trends. So here are some trends I tried to show on this altered recycled puzzle trio: Pink and Aqua colors - but I made them more saturated. Recycling - this one is done "as is": the puzzle pieces were found in the  trash and I really up cycled them to this art piece. Chipboards: I used at least one chipboard over each puzzle piece, but I altered them a lot as a usual trend is to leave them bare, whitewash or inked a bit. Mixed Media art trend - ongoing one: I tried to make it " lighter"; not to cover all pieces with a heavy layer of gesso, masks, mists and inks. Just to use stamps, some inks and embossing

Fun Swap with Crystal Flowers

Image
Hello everyone! It's Bibi here today and I'm going to show you some cards made with a set of flower dies that I've fallen madly in love with! I'm not affiliated with the manufacturer (Elizabeth Craft Designs), I'm just a happy customer and I love this set of dies because it's so versatile and the size of the petals allow for a good surface to stamp on. My friend Judi Kauffman and I are both fans of this set of dies (Crystal Flower Set 1), so we decided to do a swap. To keep it simple there was only one requirement: Use any Rubber Dance stamps along with the dies. In addition, I gave Judi permission to revise my card if she wanted to add to or alter it. She isn’t a minimalist so I had a feeling she’d want to make a few changes.... She took the bait! Here's my original Crystal Flowers card: To make the paper for the flowers, I used a grid mask and Distress inks on a piece of watercolor paper, then lightly sprayed some water for the speckled ef

Colour Challenge Reminder

Image
Still lots of time to enter our NEW COLOUR CHALLENGE with an amazing prize of stamps to be won. All you need to do to enter is use the colour swatch as inspiration for a piece of art - simple! Click here for the challenge details! In case you need a little inspiration, here's a tag I made using the Maple Leaves stamps and this month's colour combo. A really simple tag with a stencilled background and some stamped seed pods. I scrunched and crumpled the leaves for a more 'realistic' effect and mounted them with silicone so they stay nicely 3D. Hope you will give the challenge a go - and good luck!!! Warm Autumn Greetings, Katy

A Leafy Hello

Image
Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today and I have fallen in love with the leaf stamps from Rubber Dance.  This set - NP1-M: I Love Leaves - has a variety of leaves in all shapes and sizes.  You can easily cut apart the stamps and use them independently, but I opted to keep the sheet of rubber whole and use it as a background stamp.  I wanted to stay with a fall theme, so I used greens and browns.  After inking the stamp with assorted colors of Clearsnap chalk ink, I stamped a panel of white cardstock.  After inking the edges of the panel with brown ink, I matted it with 2 colors of brown cardstock, then  wrapped some coordinating ribbon around the panel before adding it to the green card. Several leaves were fussy cut and scrunched to give them a more realistic look.  They were added to the card with foam adhesives under the ribbon.    The sentiment (JNEN-2E: Just a note) was tied to the ribbon with some twine. A mixed media travel card

Image
Hello everyone, it's Susanne again with a mixed media travel card. I used the Rubber Dance Travel stamp set. It's one of my favourites because it's so vintage an the images are adorable! Here is a tutorial on how I created this card: First of all I started with some stenciling. I used a stencil (one from Theresa Collins) and some Distress Ink Walnut Stain and blended the color (using the round blending tool) form the outside to the middle. After that, I stamped the Vintage Globe Map and the Vintage Hotel Recipe with some Archival Ink Coffee. In the next step I distressed my paper a little bit more by coloring the edges with Distress Ink Walnut Stain and some stenciling using the Tim Holtz Speckles Stencil. I also altered the edges with my craft knife. I stamped my main image (Venezia), the Compass and the Sentiment on some white paper and distressed the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink (I used my craft knife to alter the edges of the sentiment a

Autumn Thank You Card by Majo

Image
Hello everyone, it's Majo from the Design Team here at Rubber Dance Stamps, and today I want to show you a “Thank You” Card  I created for many occasions. Instructions: I prepared a Master Board using Rubber Dance Stamps  NP2-M: Maple Leaves  and B3-5B: Silhouette Seagulls  and Distress Inks Wild Honey, Brushed Corduroy, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss:   I stamped the maple leave again and cut it out, I distressed the edges with Walnut Stain:   I cut black panel and cut a panel from the Master Board fitting the black panel: To give it some more texture, I spritzed my stamped panel with Ranger Black Soot: I stamped my sentiment from the set  #JNEN-2E: Just a note and matted it also with a black panel: To add dimension I adhered the maple leaf with pop dots: I assembled the panels and tied some twine around since it’s a nature theme. And there you go! Have fun
